## My background
I am a New Zealand trained teacher. I've taught all ages from Years 0-8, and also worked in senior leadership roles. Read: I've organised many field trips!
I am a curriculum specialist. I have spent my teaching career and beyond delving into all areas of the curriculum and planning learning experiences for them which excite and engage students of all ages, as well as developing teachers' confidence with teaching across the curriculum. Most recently, my role has been to parse the new New Zealand Curriculum documents to make them accessible to students, and more straightforward to cover and teach.
## Why I do what I do
I am passionate about authentic learning, because I've seen what it can do for students. I want to make as many valuable and authentic experiences as possible available to the students of Aotearoa.
I have a knack for drawing out the parts of an experience that will best appeal to children while fulfilling their learning goals.
